The pruning period
When vines are pruned, it speeds up their vegetative cycle and thus has an effect on the timing of budburst in spring.
Pruning allows us to manage the coming harvest, to space out the future bunches on the vine and manage the growth of the vine within the row.
Pruning is an important phase because it also allows us to manage the risk of spring frost. The later we prune, the later the buds will open.
